Army troops raided on Thursday afternoon neighborhoods in the Northern Metn region, and succeeded in the arrest of several men for suspecting their involvement in drug dealing.

"After obtaining information about the presence of drug trafficking networks in the Sid al-Bauchrieh area, an army force raided a residential compound in the neighborhood,” the Army Command said in a released communique.

Several people were arrested in the raid over suspicion of their involvement in drug trafficking operations, the statement announced.

"Weapons, military ammunition and a quantity of different types of drugs were also seized in the military operation,” it added.

"The arrested suspects along with the seized weapons were referred to the relevant authority.”

Also in al-Metn, the army raided areas in Jdeideh and Zoaitriyeh neighborhoods in al-Fanar region in search for fugitives, reported LBCI television.

Legalise soft drugs already and put an end to organised crime and the corruption of police officers across Lebanon !

Bunch of hypocrite police officers who make a living harassing consumers instead of focusing on the organised crime behind drug trafficking which pays them huge salaries ! TFEH 3al ISF

Legalisation or depenalisation is the only solution to this plague.

Leave consumers alone and put an end to the organised crime and corruption of police officers !

Consumers cannot end up in jail. Jail will not solve their addictions, therapy will.

The settlers are actively changing the demographic makeup of some area. It was first used very effectively by the Zionist movement in Israel. It was studied and is now being implemented by a similar sectarian apartheid movement in the Metn, Jbeil, Keserwan and some area of the Chouf.

Only one person ever put red lines around terrorists who attacked and killed LAF members, thank God PM Seniora and Lebanese army commander General Sleiman did not respect these red line. Sadly General Francois Hajj paid with his life for not respecting the red lines. His cowardly murderer was sending a message to the LAF, never cross my red lines when I command you respect my commands or else. First Lieutenant Samer Hanna did not get the message.
