Extremists Execute Man in Arsal after Infiltrating Town

Extremist gunmen on Sunday “executed” a man in Arsal after infiltrating into the Bekaa border town from its rugged mountains.

“A group from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant infiltrated into Arsal from its outskirts and murdered Mustafa Najib Ezzeddine at his house,” LBCI television.

The TV network said the group had recently issued a “death sentence” against the man.

It revealed that he is the father of a child who was executed in a similar manner.

“The victim Ezzeddine had vowed to avenge the murder of his son, who was killed 15 days ago,” Voice of Lebanon radio (93.3) reported.

But it said that the gunmen were from the Qaida-linked al-Nusra Front.

On June 5, Syrian gunmen killed 14-year-old child Khaled al-Mustafa in Arsal. At the time, LBCI said al-Nusra gunmen executed the child with two bullets to the head after he insulted them and “cursed God” as they arrived in the town to take water.

Ever since the Syrian revolt erupted in March 2011, Arsal has served as a key conduit for refugees, rebels and wounded people fleeing strife-torn Syria.
