The Russian and Iranian leaderships are trying to mediate between the Syrian officials and the Muslim Brotherhood leadership to resolve the Syrian crisis away from any military intervention, As Safir newspaper published on Thursday.

Syrian President Bashar Assad “is seriously seeking a political solution,” Lebanese Muslim officials told the daily.

The Lebanese sources quoted Syrian Muslim Brotherhood leaders as saying that “Assad expressed relief over the local situation in Syria.”

Assad, according to the sources, noted that the foreign pressure on his country has failed to avert the crisis, praising Russia and Iran’s “positive role” in protecting Syria from the danger.

As Safir report said that Assad didn’t close the door for mediations with the opposition forces especially the Muslim Brotherhood.

The sources remarked that all parties linked to the Syrian crisis, whether they support the regime or oppose it, realize that any military intervention will not resolve the turmoil, especially after Turkey, the U.S., France and Qatar are convinced that overthrowing the regime will not happen through supporting the Syrian opposition militarily.

Assad confirmed to his visitors that Syria will be able to confront the Arab League and international economic sanctions imposed on his country.

The United States on Wednesday portrayed the Syrian government as "dead men walking,” and urged Russia, China and India to put politics aside to stand with the West on action against the regime.

"optimism"...really??

Because the defectors are becoming more by the day?
Because he is isolated on the international scene?
Because of the accumulating sanctions?
Because syria is economically suffocating?
Because syria is almost out of foreign currency?
Because the intensity of the protests have not diminished?
Because the general strike was successeful?
Because he killed over 5000 people?

Shame on you! Tyrants belong to another era! Understand it already!
