What are Israel's 'priorities' in south Lebanon?

Israeli informed U.S. General Joseph Clearfield of its rejection of any agreement on a new pilot zone in south Lebanon, Lebanese sources involved in the deliberations said.

The sources added, in remarks to al-Liwaa newspaper, that Israel’s priorities are “expanding the occupied strip, erecting military barriers around towns, and preparing to seize the Ali al-Taher hills.”

Al-Liwaa also learned from “reliable sources” that no progress will be made in negotiations regarding Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon until the regional situation becomes clearer, particularly concerning the fate of U.S.-Iranian relations.

“This is because Lebanon's situation, whether it likes it or not, and any solutions within it, are linked to the regional context. When regional tensions subside, tensions in Lebanon will also subside. However, the question remains: what might Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu do in Lebanon in connection with his electoral campaign and his expansionist projects in the south, under the guise of protecting settlement security?” the sources added.

What are Israel's 'priorities' in south Lebanon?
The answer to that is very simple. The priorities are that the citizens of Israel who live near the border with Lebanon can live in peace and tranquility and not be threatened all the time by Hizballah terrorist activities.
