Wahhab on Tawhid Office Bombing: Some Sides are Targeting Me and Jumblat

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

The head of the Tawhid movement Wiam Wahhab refused on Friday to accuse any side of being behind the bombing of his movement’s newly-established office in the early morning hours of Friday.

He said during a press conference: “Some sides are targeting me and Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat.”

“The movement won’t accuse anyone because the security forces have started an investigation in the incident,” he continued.

“Everyone must know that we have gone passed the phase of intimidation as the Tawhid movement has become an integral part of Mount Lebanon,” declared the former minister.

On some claims that the PSP was behind the bombing, Wahhab said that the office is located one kilometer away from Jumblat’s residence, while his is six kilometers away.

“Some sides are seeking to create strife in Mount Lebanon. I won’t allow it,” he stressed.

A 600-gram dynamite targeted one of the offices the Tawhid movement in the Shouf district.

The explosives went off at 1:00 am on the staircase of the office in the area of al-Samqaniyeh and Baqaata that Wahhab was set to inaugurate on Friday evening.

The bomb injured one person and caused extensive material damage, the movement said.

In a statement it issued later in the day, Tawhid condemned the “cowardly criminal attack,” saying it showed signs of “professional terrorism.”

The inauguration of the office was expected to take place on Friday, but it was postponed after the death of the head of the Druze spiritual authority, Sheikh Abu Mohammed Jawad Walieddine.

Meanwhile, Hizbullah condemned the bombing, saying it is aimed at creating strife in Lebanon.

It also questioned the “suspicious timing of the attack”, voicing its solidarity with the members of the Tawhid movement.

“All sides must remain diligent in order to avoid falling victim to strife,” said the party in a statement.

The Tawhid movement later revealed that Prime Minister Najib Miqati had telephoned Wahhab to condemn the bombing.

The Free Patriotic Movement’s Shouf branch also slammed the incident, saying that is aimed at destabilizing the region.

could it be related to the explosives found in Ashrafieh yesterday? the explosives belonged to LF so they might be related to that, after all only a few days ago Geagea was attacking Wahab

This style of terrorism is very well known!! Wiam Wahab is not doing enough in support of the Syrian Regime, Syrian Regime is not very happy with the performance of it's proxies in Lebanon, Assad was clear about the way to deal with Lebanon in the future...He is sending small message with a lot of meanings !!

Thumb Chupachups 27 April 2012, 12:04

Wait, we can't say they were targeting his office until investigations are complete, because u know in lebanon people throw bombs and use sniper rifles to catch birds...

Thumb Chupachups 27 April 2012, 12:04

f.t it is the other way around really.. a regime with tanks and planes failing to quel a rebelion for more than a year. That is not good news for any regime if you read some history because versus time the rebelion grows stronger, bolder and more armed. The afghanis kicked the russians out and hanged najib alah, it took them ten years. Bashar is young enough to live to the day that he be hanged, won't take ten years either, plus he has an unusualy long enough neck that is great for hanging lol.

You guys M14 and M8, you are all Lebanese. Why don't you see it as a third party who doesn't want peace to Lebanon you should all work together to protect our country and ignore those messages. Sti7o 3a damkoun ba2a.

Default-user-icon bomb making saint (Guest) 27 April 2012, 18:20

The bomb is the same kind that blew up the Hamas office in Dahieh and similarly it blew up due to bad storage. I told Wahhab a million times "remove the timer before storing" but he would not listen, but hey that means another trip to madinat al mafrouchat and that cute sales guy.

Kudos to Mr. Wahab for understanding the real intention of the culprits (to destroy peace in the mountains). Thank you and thank Mr. Jounblat for being quick to quell yet another attempt by Lebanon enemies to bring seeds of hatred and war back to our country.

This is just a diversion tactic guys to claim that also M8 are targeted. After all it is one osba3 dynamite at 1 am when there is no one there. How is this news?

Interesting. The filthy persian militia condemned the bombing of an empty building but kept silence about sniper attacks on Gaegae.

Default-user-icon Truth (Guest) 28 April 2012, 11:06

You are a worthless pig my dear Wia'm. Don' t put yourself in the same league than Joumblatt. Killers and murderers are on your side. You have no risk whatsoever, and your trophee doesn't fetch much in the killing market ! You represent nobody but you. And the Assad's. No one was ever assassinated in the camp you belong to. This face attempt is only to create a ficititious content of retaliation that would justify the murder of Joumblatt and others by your paymasters.

Default-user-icon Truth (Guest) 28 April 2012, 11:12

Moreover, this so called attempt to murder you wants to create the illusion that all sides, M14 and M8 are being equally targeted by third party killers, and that the Geagea assassination attempt and yours have been committed by the same trouble makers. No one was ever killed in your political camp, except through road accident or in their beds! Remember that. The assassins belong to one side only.
