The Internal Security Forces issued an order on Saturday to ban motorcycles from the northern city of Tripoli.
The decision includes registered and illegal vehicles.
The administrative decision was taken by the head of the North district Nassif Qaloush.
In addition, the ISF announced that it has set up fixed and mobile checkpoints throughout the city.
Tripoli has witnessed clashes in recent weeks between the rival neighborhoods of Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen that have left at least 13 dead and 50 wounded.
Tensions have persisted in the areas that witnessed clashes with a hand grenade being tossed Saturday morning at the Baal al-Darawish area.
On Friday, one person was killed and two others were wounded as exchange of gunfire renewed between the rival neighborhoods.
The army soon intervened to restore calm.

It is a good start the next step is to remove all the weapons from the scum .God bless the ISF and the Army...

For the love of God, do the same in Beirut. The motorcyclist drive against traffic rules, hit the cars... Not to mention make so much noise day and night.

The reason they banned them is because they are used in drive-by shootings (shoot and escape, zoom between cars). They must have listened to my previous comment of last week (if you can not confiscate arms at least confiscate scooters).

This picture says it all about Lebanon: a powerless army supposed to represent the state and enforce the rule of law; and a militia man having an argument with the army while daringly holding a rifle in his hand, and knowing he won't be arrested or at least have his weapon confiscated. You will never witness this in a civilized country. Before banning motorcycles, enforce the rule of law.

These guys have my respect, they're thrown in the middle of everything and they can't even defend themselves, what a shame, Lebanon is a beautiful country.

The guy in the black jumpsuit is attending a Halloween party dressed as a modern day Ninja with an AK instead of a Katana. He seems lost and is asking the ISF for directions to the party.
