March 14 Planning to Counter Berri's Call for Parliamentary Session

March 14 opposition figures are holding intense consultations to avoid “falling in the trap” of Speaker Nabih Berri who has called for a parliamentary session on Tuesday to hear a speech by the Armenian president, sources told An Nahar daily.

The March 14 alliance boycotted all parliamentary activity following the Oct. 19 assassination of the Internal Security Forces Intelligence Bureau chief, Wissam al-Hasan, in a car bomb explosion in Beirut's Ashrafiyeh district.

The invitation to Tuesday's session and plans for another session to show solidarity with the Palestinian people against the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip are seen as attempts by Berri to "corner" the opposition and end its boycott of the parliament, the sources said.

But March 14 MPs are planning to send a delegation to the Palestinian embassy instead and Armenian opposition lawmakers are seeking to set another location for a meeting with visiting President Serzh Sarkisian, the sources told An Nahar.

They stressed that the decision to boycott the parliament was aimed at showing the Lebanese, Arab and international public opinion that March 14 rejects the government of Prime Minister Najib Miqati, which it blamed for al-Hasan's assassination.

The boycott also came as a clear signal that Lebanon's political life would remain unstable as long as the “killing machine” is functioning, the sources said.

jajajajaja Good one M14! And if the Armenian president agrees to visit M14ers, then it gives M14 even more legitimacy in its resistance action against Iranian Hegemony over Lebanon.

Frightening indeed. yalla, soon He'll follow Sheikh Ahmad Yassine, but he won't be killed by the Israelis (Bachar's Assad, hence Hezbollah's secret allies) but some Lebanese will eventually find out in which sewers He's hiding and deal with him accordingly.

Ft
the way you defend your hizbushaitan is .... blind to say the least, while their plans are clear: they advised it, and all they are doing goes in that direction.
as for the name calling ... it reflects who you are :)

Thumb geha 18 November 2012, 16:51

it matters in the case of FT because he said several times he is Christian while all his comments show he is not.
this was not a racist comment, rather a discovery of a lie from FT.

To FlameT. What you write here is simply silly. We know it and you know it. People reading comments on Naharnet is smart enough to look through most of your half way explanations and very often twisted reality, so unless you're just just using this site to kill time than please shape up. I'm bored with seeing your posts everywhere, and it feels like you're paid make do propaganda more than looking from an individual angle.

What's wrong with you lately? everyday you (and you 20+ nicknames) use the word «priceless». Does this reflect your state of mind or your wallet? Are you getting less money from Aoun for 'working' for him because Bachar stopped paying him 3 months ago? Poor you...

Thumb clouseau 18 November 2012, 12:45

Ahhhh benzona, «priceless»!! you used it too!! so you are benzona & FT =+= other 20 niks, "pp".

And you did the exact opposite.... you never complained of him shutting down the whole parliament for 18 months and now you are complaining about one faction boycotting it for few weeks to express rejection of assassinations. You see the straw in the other man's eye and not the bridge in your own (exact opposite of what Jesus preached).

Oh please. M14 can go buy a lollipop for each MP and got sit on the stairs of the parliament. MPs are public servants, they cannot go on strike. What they ought to do is go to parliament, take Geagea's speech from the other day and get every MP to stand up and repeat it so it's beaten up to the ground. Say it to the Lebanese people and to the world that we don't want partnership with Hizbullah, also it would be great to add the labels terrorists (from Aoun) and cancer (from Miqati) to describe them.

Thumb geha 18 November 2012, 19:04

oh lala.
it seems I hit a nerve? I got you.
you can say all the bad words in your dictionary: they always reflect who you are. enjoy it and keep it up. it shows how educated you are.

As a democracy, mp can choose to boycott parliament to put pressure on the government policies. M8 closed the parliament all together which was unconstitutional.
Who is right who is wrong? It depends on which side of the fence you are sitting. The Lebanese are fundamentally divided those who are with the Iranian Syrian axis and those who reject this axis. I see no solution in the near future. God saves the Lebanese.
