State commissioner to the military court Judge Saqr Saqr charged on Friday Mahmoud Hayek with attempted assassination of MP Butros Harb in July 2012.

Hayek is also charged with carrying out terrorist activity.

If convicted the man could be sentenced to death.

Harb had said that Hayek refused to appear before the investigative bodies because he is a member of Hizbullah’s security apparatus.

The Batroun MP escaped earlier in July an assassination bid after residents of a building in which his office is located in the Beirut district of Badaro discovered individuals trying to booby-trap the elevator.

A string of high-level assassinations struck Lebanon between 2004 and 2008, targeting political, media and security figures who vocally opposed the Syrian government, including former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri who was killed in a powerful car bomb blast in February 2005.

Trash and human scum, from their leader Hassan Nesrallah to the last man in their organization. They are nothing but cold blooded killers. They are rats who act like rats and live like rats. They will meet their maker one day, and with him lies the justice we've always been denied.

HA has been implicated in many assassination attempts as well as bombings, extortion and other crimes, but since it believes it is the 'resistance', it doesn't believe it should be charged with any crime.

If he is innocent, have him turn himself in and let the courts decide, otherwise stfu about your conspiracy theories. INSISTING VERY LOUDLY isn't proof.

but then you should condemn that a member of hizbullah has attempted a murder. By not voicing your condemnation, you become an accomplice.

They have been trying to turn Lebanon, Palestina and Syria to iranian satellite states for 31 years now. They will not tolerate anyone who has an opinion different to theirs and they do not accept the idea of a free human being who lives without the chains of religion. If you do not believe me I encourage you to visit Tehran and go see for yourselves. I dare whoever to try and insult the Khomeini in iran...you will literally be killed on the spot. I'm not saying that Saudi is any better....it's actually worse ...but the difference is that Hezbolla acts first and foremost in the interests of Iran and their spiritual leaders.

How about the ISF just as in the LASSA situation go after his family to force them to surrender him?
