Security Measures near Asir's Mosque in Sidon as Supporters Block Several Roads

The army on Tuesday stopped a car carrying a fake license plate in the vicinity of the Bilal bin Rabah Mosque in Sidon, the National News Agency reported, as several security sources denied reports that security forces were preparing to storm the mosque.
“Reports that the army encircled the Bilal bin Rabah Mosque in Abra are baseless and supporters of (Sheikh Ahmed) al-Asir went on alert after the army stopped a car carrying a fake license plate in the vicinity of the mosque,” NNA said.
“The army is pacifying the situation,” the agency added.
Meanwhile, LBCI and al-Jadeed quoted military sources as saying that there is no intention to storm the mosque and that the security measures around it were not extraordinary.
Asir's official Facebook page claimed that the army was preparing to storm the mosque.
The reports prompted Asir's supporters to block roads in the Beirut areas of Corniche al-Mazraa and Qasqas and Tripoli's al-Nour Square.
Asir and his supporters have staged several rallies recently to protest claims that Hizbullah had rented apartments in the vicinity of the Bilal bin Rabah Mosque to monitor Asir's movements.

He didn't parade with weapons. He only assigned armed bodyguards after they killed two of our men. Yes our men because any Muslim should feell with those young brothers that were killed by Hezbollah in Taamir neighborhood. I don't need any proof, just how this article is written by a liar. The man stopped wasnt driving with a fake license. What occurred was when they verified his I'd card, the license plates didn't match. And he had explained because it was a new car

i have to agree with you phoenix, even if i dont share your political stand there are facts you are pointing at which are absolutely true. For me it is really iunbelievable how the lebanese didnt learned from their own history and are going to create a new civil strife in Lebanon. It is amazing how the same way of thinking which brought us war in 1975 is still present and also seems to increase. We are so addicted to the sectarian way of thinking, that we cant see the signs of a new war in our beloved lebanon.
