A Fatah Movement member was shot dead on Monday in the Ain el-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp near the southern city of Sidon, state-run National News Agency reported.

“Ahmed Saleh Shikhani, the bodyguard of Fatah Movement's Talal al-Ordoni, was shot dead in the Ain el-Hilweh camp at the hands of Hussein al-Tawil, a member of the group of Fatah al-Islam ex-official Bilal Bader,” NNA said.

“The situation is tense in the camp and Palestinian leaders are trying to contain the incident,” the agency added.

Al-Jadeed television reported earlier that the clash was of a personal nature.

On May 19, a man was killed and two others were injured in clashes between the Fatah Movement and Bilal Bader's group in Ain el-Hilweh's al-Sefsaf area.

Ain el-Hilweh, the largest Palestinian camp in the country, is home to about 50,000 refugees and is known to harbor extremists and fugitives.

By long-standing convention, the Lebanese army does not enter the country's 12 refugee camps, leaving security inside to the Palestinians themselves.

It could be related to yesterday's attack on the supermarket in sanafer's shar7abeel.

The Hizb may have not done it. However, for the longest time the Hizb and other pro-syrian m8 groups opposed the lebanese government imposing its authority on the camps while m14 (supported by the palestinian authority) wanted that to happen.
