Liverpool Acquires Cissokho on Loan from Valencia

Valencia announced it has agreed to send French defender Aly Cissokho to Liverpool on a one-year loan deal.

Valencia said Cissokho "has already joined the English team, which will have an option to buy the player."

The 25-year-old defender joined Valencia on a four-year contract from Lyon last summer.

While playing for FC Porto earlier in his career, he was reportedly close to a move to AC Milan before a medical test showed Cissokho apparently had a dental problem that could cause muscular injuries.

Cissokho helped Valencia finish fifth in the Spanish league last season.
