Arrest Warrants Issued against 7 Suspects Linked to Imad Jomaa

Arrest warrants were issued on Friday against seven detainees over their links to August's clashes in the northeastern border town of Arsal between the army and Islamist militants, reported the National News Agency.

It said that Military Examining Magistrate Imad al-Zein issued the warrants against a Lebanese and six Syrians for their connection to the clashes and Imad Jomaa, a member of the al-Qaida-affiliated al-Nusra Front whose arrest sparked the Arsal unrest.

IS Executes Arsal Man after Several-Day Abduction

Militants from the ruthless Islamic State jihadist group have executed a Lebanese citizen, around a week after they beheaded a Lebanese army sergeant in the outskirts of the Bekaa border town of Arsal, state-run National News Agency reported Thursday.

“An armed group from the terrorists of the IS has executed the citizen Kayed Ghadada, who hails from the town of Arsal,” NNA said.
