السفارة الأميركية "خائبة" من التعامل مع فريق "الجديد": يجب أن تكون الدولة مسؤولة

أعربت السفارة الأميركية في بيروت عن خيبتها من التعامل مع فريق قناة "الجديد" من قبل مديرية الجمارك، قائلة أن حرية التعبير يجب ان تكون "من ركائز الدولة الحرة".
وقالت السفارة في تغريدات عبر حسابها الرسمي على موقع "تويتر" الأربعاء "تشعر السفارة الاميركية بالخيبة حيال الطريقة التي تمّ التعامل بها مع رياض فبيسي وصحافيين آخرين" أمس الثلاثاء.
وأضافت "نحن سعيدون أن وزير العدل (في حكومة تصريف الأعمال شكيب قرطباوي) يدعو الى تحقيق شامل كي يتمّ الاستماع الى جميع الاطراف".
وإذ ذكرت أنه "يجب أن تكون مؤسسات الدولة مسؤولة أمام الشعب والقانون" شدد على أن "حكم القانون وحرية التعبير هما من ركائز الدولة الحرة والمستقرة".
وكان قد اعتدى عناصر من الجمارك على فريق برنامج "تحت طائلة المسؤولية" التابع لقناة "الجديد" ظهر الثلاثاء، الأمر الذي استدعى اعتصامات تضامنية تعرض لها أيضا عناصر الجمارك في وسط بيروت، في حين باشر القضاء مهمته بالتحقيق واستدعى أطباء شرعيين للكشف عن الصحافيين وأبرزهم رياض قبيسي الذي أفرج عنه مع زملائه علي خليفة، علي شريم وأديب فرحات.
إلا أن مديرية الجمارك اعتبرت أن الذي حصل "هجمة غير مألوفة" من فريق قناة "الجديد" تمهيدا لاقتحام المبنى، مشيرة إلى أنها ستتخذ "التدابير القانونية" اللازمة.

So you guys who support Syria and Iran (supporters of Saudi are also involved) and call for democracy support state violence against the media ?
You don't believe in freedom of expression and freedom of information for citizens.

Iran doesnt have 50+ bases around the world and start random wars. The US overthrew their leader and set up a dictator, or have you forgotten about that? What about arming Saddam in the 80s to use Chemical weapons on Iran on the 80s? You might not agree with their religious views, but to compare the two is quite simply laughable and shows your complete ignorance of history.

@Southern, Assange and Snowden have been accused of a crime and have the right to a fair trial in the US. They are fugitives because they know they did something wrong and to avoid persecution and NOT because of a corrupt system. I'm a proud Lebanese-American and I can tell you that the US have the best legal system in the world even though it has its flaws. Please do not compare what those thugs did to journalists. This is a matter of free speach and that is absolutely absent in Lebanon.
