الافراج عن جورج قهمزيان بعد دفع 12 الف دولار

أفرج عن المواطن جورج قهمزيان بعيد منتصف ليل الخميس-الجمعة، بعد دفع فدية مالية قدرها 12 ألف دولار، وفق ما أفادت "الوكالة الوطنية للاعلام".
الا ان اذاعة "صوت لبنان" (93.3)، لفتت الى ان عملية الافراج تمت في بلدة الطيبة في بعلبك، دون دفع أي فدية مالية.
يُذكر أن قهمزيان، كان خطف الخميس بالقرب من مركز دار العجزة في بلدة شليفا - منطقة بعلبك. وكان الخاطفون طلبوا فدية قدرها 50 ألف دولار اميركي.
وأدت عملية الخطف الى قطع طريق بعلبك، حيث طالب المحتجون بالافراج عن قهمزيان.

Not good for the tourist trade to pick up people, hold them for ransom and then let them go. Better to let the tourists come and ask them for their money in return for hand carved trinkets. This Lebanese short cut to the pockets of their visitors will only drive away the customers, as it already has.
The many are made to suffer so that the few can live well.
