Read this story in English W460

“We call for waging the presidential elections battle at parliament or reaching an understanding, without preconditions"

A convicted murderer would no doubt ask for no preconditions.

time to stop convicted murderers & outsiders having a say on who should be Lebanons President.

People vote directly & only the People of Lebanon.

Thumb the_roar 16:11 ,2014 كانون الأول 10

(1). Coolmec, I subscribe to your views, Geagea, Aoun, Berri, Jumblat, Nasrallah and many more have blood in their hands and lots of it. However, I have not seen one of the others, other than Geagea getting jailed in solitary for 11 years, whilst the rest continued to live free as if nothing happened in Lebanon. Geagea was given ample lavish chances and opportunities by the Syrian occupiers to set him free and join the swollen ranks of their traitors and stooges. Because Geagea refused, jail was his only choice. The Syrians hoped that he would eventually die of sickness and solitude, but Geagea held tight and survived. His arch rival, the old demented Aoun was living the life, pretending to be some revival of one glorious French leader to the other.

Thumb -phoenix1 17:19 ,2014 كانون الأول 10

(2). Coomec. Nasrallah was patiently building his Wilayet Al Faqih, Berri in his usual self was enjoying the building of his empire of thefts and extortion, Jumblatt hoping to thwart returning Christian lands, in all simplicity, the cave of Ali Baba grew from 40 thieves to 4000 within the 11 years Geagea was in solitary. Today, Berri's money and assets in the USA and the Caribbean are in jeopardy, Nasrallah's even in worse predicament, with a war of attrition in Syria, the man is bleeding and needs every single minority to stand by him, Aoun the claoun has expired written all over his grumpy face, his clique is waiting for him to buzz off mother earth so that they can form their mini FPMs.

Thumb -phoenix1 17:21 ,2014 كانون الأول 10

(3). Coolmec. Sadly and this speaking for myself, Geagea could have taken a better political route after having being freed and this after the Syrians got kicked out of Lebanon, but then, that's another story which we could discuss at length. Just for now, one was jailed for 11 years, the rest were living the life.

I'm not surprised at you Phoenix choosing a mainly Muslim elected parliament over a direct vote in the Christian street to elect a president...... I think you know well who s really afraid

Thumb -phoenix1 17:44 ,2014 كانون الأول 10

Who is dear David?

Thumb -phoenix1 18:10 ,2014 كانون الأول 10

David you still haven't replied why? OK, no prob. When you see me choosing a Muslim dominated parliament, bring it to the surface if you please. Now about electing a president from the street, now how do you propose to do that? Are the Christians the only ones allowed to vote? If not then ahla wou sahla fik, bring in the Shiite vote, the Syrians and Palestinians and anyone money will buy. Then who is electing the PM, or the House Speaker, the street? Why the Christian presidency and it's there enough time now to do it, or the logistics? You wish to sound plausible, then accept that this is just another ploy by old man Aoun and his HA bosses to waste time eternally. Now since there is a consitution in place for this provision, why doesn't old man Aoun face it off with Geagea? Now who is afraid if you please?

Geagea is subsidized by KSA and Aoun is subsidized by Iran. They are not independent actors, but are benefactors who cannot take actions that would jeopardize their streams of patronage money on which their respective political parties depend. Because both or neither have full confidence that their patrons want a president right now, both or neither act. As long as the Iranian nuclear talks are unresolved, Iran is not willing to jeopardize its position in Lebanon by allowing an election that could reinvigorate state institutions, including the army, to the detriment of the unfettered power currently exercised by Hezbollah. So, Aoun continues to boycott and Geagea continues to prick him with pins, with full confidence that Aoun will not act therefore allowing Geagea to maintain his position demanding elections.

Thumb beiruti 16:33 ,2014

This sort of thing happens when the political leadership sells its birthright of leadership to outside patrons who, through their money, control the Lebanese political class and deny it the independent freedom to act.
This is not unique to Lebanon. In the US, rather than KSA or Iran calling the shots because they have the money, there are the big corporate donors who fund national campaigns, Koch Brothers, et al, who do the same damage to the American Republic as KSA and Iran are doing to the Republic of Lebanon.

Thumb -phoenix1 16:56 ,2014 كانون الأول 10

PB, I am one who is looking to see the end of Aoun and his clique. They have stolen so very much, yet wish to portray themselves as the champions of decency. They accuse those who oppose them of every sordid accusation yet accept to ignore their tons of crimes. Of course they have a first class media system including a stat of the art TV station funded and subsidized by Hezbollah and Iran, so they can say anything. Of course, no one who was involved in the war is free of suspicion, but for Aoun and his clique to say that they have nothing to do with anything is the wrong itself. My feelings tell me that Aounism is about to die a painful death in due time, Inshallah.

Thumb -phoenix1 17:29 ,2014 كانون الأول 10

Slash, now this is true: I know some people who work at Deyr El Salib and they confirm that Aoun the claoun visits there for treatment. Aoun has a file dating back to the 80s. This is true, or at least the people who tell the story, and who are not related one to the other speak of the same story. Lately Aoun has visited the mental institution more often than before which is a sure sign that the old man is surely going to one place, either sanitarium or to meet his creator. Aoun is sick, both mentally and physically, his last coveted wish for the presidency will not happen, even his ex-French hosts have discounted him, (naturally him being a furious mad man as they call him in France, Le Fou Furieux).

How do you take these same peoples view that his words still have revelance

simple their words become as relevant as the convicted murderer they endorse.

Irrelevant , expired , out of touch.

God bless democracy...God bless the General of generals who is the only leader pushing for people power & allowing the People decide.

nothing these irrelevant, convicted murderer supporters can say will change these facts.....they are haters who cannot fathom the meaning of democracy...no to people power but yes to convicted murderers is their motto.....pfft

Roar again with the al-Manar propaganda. Let's analyse what you just said here: "M14 ignored disassociation first and sent takfiris milk and blankets." It was one man, Okab Saqr who sent what, light arms and some money and fighters to Syria? Okay, and that warrants a Hezbo retaliation by deploying a standing army of 5-10,000 men?????? Please, just keep things in perspective. Hezbollah could have sent some milk and blankets of their own to "even the score" if that's really what their goal was.

Thumb nickjames 22:21 ,2014

And who do you mean by M8 had no choice????? Do you see Aouniyeh deployed in the Hezbo outposts??? Do you even know Aoun's position on Hezbollah's fighting in Syria??? Have you ever heard Aoun publicly support Hezbollah's fighting????

Thumb nickjames 21:43 ,2014

Another thing Roar, you're so obsessed with the words "convicted murderer." And guess what?? He's free. And you know another thing? Even your general asked for his pardoning. Isn't that strange, Roar? What does that say about his conviction, to the point that his biggest rival even asked for his freedom?? Yet here you are, still stuck in 1994.

Look at Hessni Mubarak, he's a "convicted murderer" (since acquitted after retrial). And when these Hezbollah members are "convicted" you're gonna be crying that the STL is an American-Israeli conspiracy blablablablablabla. So keep saying "convicted murderer" until it's time to defend Hezbollah by saying the trials were politically motivated.

Thumb Mystic 22:05 ,2014
