There are many good candidates : Samir Frangieh, Ziad Baroud, Qahwaji, Frem, Rizk....actually "anybody, but not HIM"

So if it turns out that the majority of the Lebanese are Shias, so that if you set aside the Taef "Accord's" fifty-split of Parliament seats (ahead of any election) between Christians and Muslims and held a free election, the Shia preference became the ruling slate, that would indeed answer your requirement that the Lebanese get the solution they want and deserve. Presidency, trash, Arsal, Hezbullah in Syria, foreign money in Lebanese politics, sons inheriting power from their warlord fathers, etc.: all these problems would be solved.
