Even their language is a fake mixture of Yiddish and ancient Hebrew.

well said, very well said. Your expertise now extends to languages.

A fake nation: agreed. A fake language: agreed. Dirty chapter: agreed. Let me add: racist, expansionist, narcissist, etc ... Then why did they succeed in building a country that is strong, innovative and vibrant while we failed? Because the parties of God and the parties of dictatorships are not dominating the public space through the use of force. Because when one tried early on to continue having their militia, it was crushed. Because they built a legal system - despite its many flaws - that is largely independent. Because their loyalty is to the country above everything else. And because after all, the have scarecrows like us to point to that till now cannot adapt to the modern world.

Thumb _mowaten_ 15:20 ,2017 شباط 21

it's not over sauditheocrat, and it will never be over as long as their racist criminal exists. it won't be easy but it's only a matter of time, there's no escaping the only possible outcome to this. scumbags will be purged out of the middle east because their behaviour has proven that they can never be accepted.

Missing ArabDemocrat.com 15:27 ,2017 شباط 21

You are right mowaten safawi ... This will not be over till we put the parties of God in their place so we can all live in free democratic countries - no matter the religion of the person is or lack of it.

Thumb gigahabib 15:43 ,2017 شباط 21

The main reason they succeeded is because of sympathy from the world after WW2, and due to their political strength in the US, both which lead to unlimited support.

Missing ArabDemocrat.com 15:46 ,2017 شباط 21

If they did not build real institutions of governance and unity of arms, no amount of support would have been sufficient.

Well, if we're gonna get all technical about it, Modern Hebrew is a revived language, meaning that it stopped being a spoken language somewhere around the 3rd Century AD, surviving mainly as a liturgical language in the same way as Latin, but was then resurrected as a spoken language in the 19th Century (what's up with Jews being resurrected the whole time? First Jesus, then Hebrew...), when it indeed incorporated some of the Yiddish that was current in the Eastern European Jewish community. Considering that Lebanese Arabic incorporates a lot of French words mixed in with Modern Levantine Arabic and departs significantly at times from Modern Standard Arabic, does that make our language fake as well according to your calculus?

Thumb kanaanljdid 21:41 ,2017 شباط 21

Modern Hebrew is revived as Modern Arabic is. Actually it has never being unused, it was a living written language without interruption, but was not spoken for centuries. And it has far more Arabic and Aramaic words than Yiddish words. Yiddish doesn't have many things in common with Hebrew, the latter is more like a modern...phoenician.

Thumb kanaanljdid 21:39 ,2017 شباط 21

Which language is not a "fake mixture" ? Lebanese is pure Arabic ?

"It is only for political reasons that we carefully underline our Palestinian identity... yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity serves only tactical purposes. The founding of a Palestinian state is a new tool in the continuing battle against Israel".

- Zuhair Muhsin, military commander of the PLO and member of the PLO Executive Council

Missing B.K.L 01:58 ,2017 شباط 22

Did you check if this zuhair commander even exist? That quote has circulated in zionist propaganda for years now. Besides, the Palestinian identity is just as strong or weak (depending on how you see it) as the lebanese, syrian, tunisian, emirati identity. These states, especially the levant states are melting pots of the world. 100 years ago, lebanese were syrians. It does not mean that the people weren't living there or have no ancestors there.

Facts are that modern-day israelis are a nation of immigrants that are united by ascribing to judaism, they are not a real ethnicity. How else does one explain that a russian jew looks nothing like an indian jew or how an ethiopian jew looks nothing like a tunisian jew?
They came and took over the land with the help of the british colonialists.

Thumb saturn 16:12 ,2017 شباط 21

Should be noted that "Palestinian" people are a fake and have not had any history, no mention in any historical documents (except everything doctored after 1948) and no heritage. And no, they are NOT descendants of the Philistines.

Thumb Machia 16:40 ,2017 شباط 21

Actually for the Europeans, which I am sure you are one of them, that came over and violently took over Palestine, the people living there were not people but an inferior race that lived on a holy land for over 1,000 years.
The Europeans thought they were a superior race, (and many of them still think so), that deserves to step on these inferior Arabs, the way these Europeans were stepped on by their neighbours because of their religion.
Sorry they called themselves Palestinians, the way you call yourselves Israelis. But that is not important.
They are real people that were kicked out of their lands. So called "Israelis" are occupiers. So please spare us your ideology and go away!

Thumb saturn 17:56 ,2017 شباط 21

The British Mandate of Palestine was a temporary administration that never resulted in a country named "Palestine" (though "Transjordan" eventually gained independence as Jordan). The Jewish immigration was too significant and yes there was conflict so messy that even the British called it quits. In many cases eviction and armed clashes caused Arabs to quit the land; there were also huge numbers of land simply sold with Arab tribal chiefs getting ridiculously rich.

"Palestinians" are a mix of bedouin tribes with Cherkess, Yemeni, Moroccan and Saudi origins. Where were all those masses of people before? Check what Mark Twain says in "The Innocents Abroad", 1867.

Thumb saturn 18:46 ,2017 شباط 21

"the Palestinians are the descendants of the Philippines."

Seems your spell checker didn't recognize "Philistines" and corrected to "Philippines", and perhaps rightly so, Philistines were of Greek or Aegean origin and almost all trace of them is lost after the rule of Neo-Babylonian empire in the 7th century BC. Modern "Palestinians" are or tribal origin encouraged to migrate to the land to counter the Zionist movement under the suddenly acquired "Arab nationalism".

Thumb shab 21:10 ,2017 شباط 21

Saturn is correct. But we have been brainwashed for decades that there is an acient country called Palestine and liberation is promised to them for it's mentioned in the Quran. All are lies.

Thumb Machia 16:12 ,2017 شباط 21

I am glad that "fake" is the new black.

Israel "a fake nation" I agree.
Khamanei "a fake power hungry dictator" I disagree. He is the real thing.

Thumb Machia 16:42 ,2017 شباط 21

I totally agree but unfortunately Lebanon always pays the price of these theatrics while Iran is untouched.

You should watch this to see how Israel and Iran are strategic allies. Of great interest is the Iranian lobbyist in Washington part in the video when he talks about Iran and Israel being best friends.

Al-Maqdisi, a Palestinian geographer born in 946AD in the city of Jerusalem wrote the following:

"Filastin is the westernmost of the provinces of Syria. In its
greatest length from Rafh [Rafah] to the boundary of Al Lajjun (Legio),
it would take a rider two days to travel over; and the like time to cross the
breadth from Yaffa (Jaffa) to Riha (Jericho) . . . Filastin is watered by the rains
and dew. Its trees and its ploughed lands do not need artificial irrigation;
and it is only in Nabulus that you find the running waters applied to this
purpose. Filastin is the most fertile of the Syrian provinces. Its capital and
the largest town is Ar Ramlah, but the Holy City (of Jerusalem) comes very
near this last in size. In the province of Filastin, despite its small extent, there
are about twenty mosques, with pulpits for the Friday prayer."
