But I thought it was the Arabs that didn't want peace! How can this be?! Omg I can't believe it. -_-

ahh---but the article did not say that the Israelis don't want peace--it said that they do not believe that peace with the Palestinians is possible. There is a very important difference. You can want peace, but recognize that it may not be possible. Whether the Arabs want peace is a much more serious and relevant question.

Hey, I'm Israeli, and I'm a pro-peace activist. But if asked, I would have said no. Not because I don't want it - but because I don't believe the current peace talks are sincere. See how that's not the same question?

Just how many Israelis were polled here, and where exactly do they live.
If in the settlements I'm surprised it was only 79.7%, if in Tel Aviv and Haifa I surprised it's as high as 79.7%.
Even if 5000 people were polled I very much doubt it if was a complete cross-section of Israeli society, and therefore shows a warped result.

The real question is "what were the terms-of-peace presented in the question asked in the poll?"... Do you really think that if peace included the right of return, most Israelis would agree to it?

beirutbastard00, agreed. Statistics is the devil's game and this article should have definitely accompanied your requested data.

Voluntary response bias+convenience sampling+selection bias at play here.

This article can be safely discarded.

I would presume that one of the big problems of the Israelis regarding the peace talks, is not actually with the Palestinians, but with the rest of the Arab World.
Why is it that we have not heard from one single Arab Leader, or from the Arab League, a statement saying something like "the day after the Palestinians and Israeli sign a peace treaty.......(fill in name of country) will sign one too."

The question is not if they want peace (they want it at 99,99%), but rather if they think it is possible, i.e. if they trust Arabs because Arabs are the only ones refusing peace. Israel recognize Arab States, Arabs doesn't recognize Israel. That's it, it's in the hands of the Arab world ya jame3a.

as someone who lives in Israel all his life (almost) i'd say it like this: the truth here, just like most of the time in the neibohring countries, is that people wish for peace, believe in peace Much more than any other direction that obviesly failed, and know it's possible. But they're not gonna Say it and/or Vote accordingly as long as their Leaders, particularly the religious ones don't do so. in other words they're Afraid of annoying those "leaders". That's the truth to be revealed !
