Mustaqbal Bloc: Lebanon Unable to Tolerate Repercussions of Syria Crisis

Al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc said in a statement on Wednesday that Lebanon is no longer able to handle the repercussions of the Syrian crisis, urging the Lebanese to resort to the state's authority and respect the principle of national partnership.

The bloc stressed after its weekly meeting the necessity to fully commit to the dissociation policy which means the withdrawal of Hizbullah from Syria and the deployment of the Lebanese army along the border with the help of international peacekeeping troops to prevent fighters from crossing between the two countries and “spare Lebanon miseries caused by the party's participation in the fighting in Syria.”

The bloc concluded that “normal and national life in Lebanon is not possible as long as Hizbullah continues its devastating fighting in Syria.”

On the formation of the cabinet, the bloc rejected granting anyone veto power in the next government and voiced total rejection of the people-army-resistance equation “that was exploited to cripple the state and its institutions.”

Denouncing the latest bombings that targeted Haret Hreik in Beirut's southern suburb and Hermel in the Bekaa, the bloc demanded that an investigation be opened into all “terrorist crimes against humanity.”

Please retitle this caption to: Lebanon Unable to Tolerate Repercussions of Lebanese Politicians' Crisis. At least it will start us off with more honesty.

There's no war between syria and lebanon but someone forgot to tell the murderous syrian regime that lebanon should fire back from where those rockets came from but they wont because the lebanese government are hand picked agents of syria

@thefact, It will take a lot more than our police to patrol the border between us and Syria, it will take then entire Red Army to do that. Your post is thus full of wrongful values, you do know what Syria does and still does till this day. Who is forcing HA weapons to be smuggled into Lebanon? I do have some top army people as relatives, please talk to them about this subject and listen to what they'd have to tell you about that border. And the daily firing on us by both sides, is that not by any chance a war? The truth is this: We've always had a dubious neighbor with Syria, they till now regard us as part of their land entity, so they'll dodge border delineation, they will always support proxies in Lebanon to do their dirty job, and so much more, yet you call all this nonsense?

With Israel, it's quite a simple thing really, even in the absence of a peace treaty with them, don't bother them, they won't bother you, simple. With Syria, you keep the peace or not, they'll still trample you all over. Surely you must have followed the matter of the Shebaa Farms, how treacherous has Syrian been in simplifying the issue by handing us the tile deed to this land and get Israel to return them back to us? Syria says but Syria never signs, except when it comes to steal our Waters, our revenues, everything, but Syria never gives. So @fact, let's have the LAF do the proper thing, we are a sovereign nation after all, let the LAF patrol seriously our border with the Bnadee2 Tamarlank.

Before you can make a stand, you have to have a place to stand. Out of government, these pronouncements by Mustaqbel are statements of position and posturing, that mean nothing. If they do return to power, then these positions are opening negotiating points at best. Hezbollah still has to be dealt with and right now, Hezbollah cannot be dealt with by diktat, especially by people without the means of enforcing their diktat.
Let us be realistic people. Find a beach head before conquering the island, right now, you are still at sea in a leaky boat.
