Al-Mustaqbal bloc leader Fouad Saniora met on Tuesday with Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Sabah, who expressed readiness to help Lebanon overcome its crises.

A statement issued by Saniora's press office, said the lawmaker thanked the Emir because “the state of Kuwait has always stood by Lebanon in all stages and has supported Lebanon and the Lebanese people at all levels.”

“Kuwait is always ready to help Lebanon overcome the problems that it is facing,” Sheikh Sabah said, according to the statement.

The Emir also hoped that Lebanon would flourish and enjoy stability.

Following his meeting with Sheikh Sabah, Saniora visited the headquarters of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and was briefed on the projects that it is funding.

Saniora is in Kuwait as a guest of honor to the opening of the fifth annual conference of the network of institutes and government training centers in the Middle East and North Africa.

Mr. Emir, the KSA has donated BN$3 plus, the UAE about half of that, now Sir, if you don't mind, another BN$2 to our LAF will make it so strong that no one in Lebanon could dispute its will. The we can have a strong army, a strong Lebanese state, strong constitutional institutions, then voila, Lebanon will be on its way to a permanent solution, one in which it will no longer be a pain in the butt for anyone, just a strong state, fully viable, fully capable and emancipated, and above all, NO more militias, neither local, nor foreign like masalan the PLO or the other Palestinian militias. yalla, oumdi al check law sama7t, eh, BN$2 byimshil 7al ya Emir.

josephani,
I can always count on your non-sectarian point of view.
It would be a happy day for you if none of that money made it to the LAF, do not try to fool me by saying that would be a sad thing.
Remain hopeful, and instead say "I hope this comes to fruition and that the LAF will be strong enough to justify the disarmament of HA and enables it to disarm all groups".

Joe, France is already taking the order for the advanced weaponry, this is why I now have faith. All we want is Lebanon, strong, vibrant, independent, prosperous, peaceful, stable, full of life, full of zest, happy people, happy children, a country where we can all live and prosper, a country where all our children can live in peace and for generations to come. The army, the LAF, the key word to our future.
