Three people were injured on Tuesday when rockets fired from Syria landed in various Bekaa towns.

At least 4 rockets fired from Syria hit the al-Qantara area in al-Nabi Sheet's outskirts, said MTV.

The head of the Nabi Sheet municipality told LBCI that an elderly man was wounded by one of the rocket attacks.

Another rocket landed in a farm in the same town.

Later on Tuesday, state-run National News Agency said “Ali Zein al-Moussawi, his wife and one of their children were wounded when a rocket fell near the house of Hussein Qassem al-Moussawi in al-Nabi Sheet.”

“They were rushed to the Riyaq Hospital,” it added.

In the wake of the attack, President Michel Suleiman reiterated his call for “the warring parties in Syria to neutralize Lebanese border towns and villages and from their shelling.”

And as he condemned the attack that “wounded Lebanese citizens and damaged houses and properties in the Bekaa towns of al-Nabi Sheet and Sirein,” the president asked the Lebanese Army to "take all the necessary steps to defend frontier villages and to defend the innocent residents, who are paying with their lives and wealth for these conflicts."

On Sunday, a number of rockets fired from the Syrian side of the border landed in the northern region of Akkar.

On Saturday, rockets fired from Syria landed in the Bekaa regions of al-Hermel and al-Qaa.

Bekaa towns, with a majority of Shiite population, have repeatedly come under rocket attacks by either rebels seeking to topple Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime or armed men supporting them.

The Syrian troops loyal to Assad also continue to carry out air raids on Arsal, a majority Sunni town, which is an escape route for rebels and smugglers.

It saddens me anytime a rocket falls on a restive Bekaa village, or a HA operative or supporter gets assassinated or martyred. Why do these evil people always target HA areas?

the answer of the weak and coward: instead of facing combatants on the battlefield, they send bombs on civilians from afar. note that it's just like their israeli masters do.

Guys!

Didn't the armed group in the south do the same to Israeli civilians in 2006.

Bomb them from afar too.....

Israel did it. No need to blame Syria. I should have been a sniper.

josephani: of course we can, the israelis animals believe in their zion like those animals believe in their caliphate, both have a "chosen people" syndrome in the sense that anybody not them is considered inferior. israelis usually consider that "the blood of a thousand goyims is not worth a jewish fingernail". the only difference being that israelis have the luxury of US-paid bombers and missiles, and do not need to send suicide bombers.

kalzy: you cannot compare that. when israelis came on the ground, HA met them on the ground when israelis stayed far and used bombers and artillery to carpet bomb civilian areas, HA sent rockets back, but aimed at military installations. this is why they killed a huge majority of israeli soldiers, while israelis killed a huge majority of civilians.

also, you can't ask HA to stay put while they bomb from far, might as well wait to die. it would be cowardly if they came on the ground and HA ran and used long range weapons. and this was certainly not the case.

Let us blame no foreigners for our woes, let us not shoulder them with anything, we Lebanese are to blame, period. Since we attained that so-called independence 70 years ago, when did we even resemble what may look like a real state? For decades we've been at each others throats, preferring to espouse and die for the values of the non-Lebanese, thus we've been fooling the world for decades, well, the world could only return the gesture by fooling us. We've never been really a nation, just something that's trying to look like one. Today, our Muslim siblings, both Shiites and Sunnis are embroiled in a war that isn't ours, likewise, they'll get what they've asked for, these people who are the furthest from religion, call them Takfiris or satanists, I care less, we could have avoided them coming to us.
