'Beware of Our Rage', LU Contract Professors Say as They Declare Strike

Lebanese University contract professors on Wednesday announced that they will stage a two-day strike next week, warning of an open-ended strike if authorities do not appoint them as full-time employees.

“We have decided to stage a strike on Wednesday and Thursday next week and an open-ended strike will be held if our demands are not fulfilled,” the professors said during a sit-in at the intersection of the presidential palace in Baabda.

“Either we leave the streets as full-timers or else we won't continue in this university,” they stressed.

And as one of them threatened “surprises,” another noted that today's strike was only a “warning.”

“Our strike today was only a warning and beware of our rage,” the professor added.
