No official stance has been released by the March 8 alliance over the return of head of the Mustaqbal Movement MP Saad Hariri to Lebanon, but its circles hoped that his return will help resolve pending disputes in Lebanon, reported al-Joumhouria newspaper on Saturday.
Prominent March 8 sources hoped to the daily that the return “will not be employed to escalate the political rhetoric in Lebanon.”
“We hope that he brings with him initiatives to resolve disputes,” they added.
“Is he returning with initiatives or the same policies that do not open closed doors?” they wondered to al-Joumhouria.
Circles from the March 8 camp's Free Patriotic Movement meanwhile did not rule out the possibility of a meeting between head of the movement MP Michel Aoun and Hariri.
Hariri made on Friday a surprise return to Beirut following a three-year absence.
He met upon his return Premier Tammam Salam at the Grand Serail to discuss a Saudi military grant to the army aimed at providing it with arms to combat terrorism.
He later attended a security meeting at the Serail to discuss the same issue.
Hariri had repeatedly claimed that security reasons had prevented his return to Beirut.

m8 has proved to be the most destructive to our economy. just see what happened since they took over....

"Hariri had repeatedly claimed that security reasons had prevented his return to Beirut."
Saadedine returned too early, he thought his buddies in da3esh (isis) were going to succeed in Lebanon and be his security aparatus. Instead he had to do a 180 and come with saudi money and pretend to cover his tracks.
Just like they were the biggest pro syrians and became anti syrians, they were the biggest pro wahabi, nusra and isis supporters and now pretending to be anti.

Wlek rou2ou ya jame3a. When are you going to understand that there can be no winners and losers in this country. It's either win-win or lose-lose. I hope that cool heads will prevail and that Hariri and Aoun would find common ground to get us out of this mess. Everyone needs to compromise a little.

M8ers, you don't see that you guys have cornered yourselves. Iran/Hezbollah and Assad fight Nusra and ISIS in Syria, particularly the border towns of Qaisar and Qalamoun. The Sunni fundamentalists are not defeated, but pour across the border into Lebanon, land in Arsel, start to raise hell there.
HA says it can't engage the Daeg in Arsel because it would inflame the Sunnis in Tripoli, Sidon etc. So, the LAF has to do the job of fighting Sunni Fundamentalists. Some Sunni soldiers defect, Daeg encourages more, if the Army disintegrates, Lebanon is laid bare to Daeg advances and HA's home base is exposed while HA fighters are away in Iraq and Syria.

Who needs Hariri now? Mr. Moderate Sunni with cash in hand has to come home, keep the Sunnis on the farm, allow political cover for the LAF to defeat Daeg in Lebanon without inflaming the Sunni population. This is why Hariri has popped up in Lebanon now. His presence is critical political cover for the LAF to perform its mission. By coincidence, this is helping Hezbollah which indirectly helps Assad and Iran and so there is consensus that Hariri is untouchable under present circumstances.

While Hezbollah is needy, now is the time to cut into their power, particularly with the election of a Lebanese President. HA is not in any position to put up much fight. Aoun has been paid now by KSA as a part of the $1.0 billion dollar payment that brought Hariri back. I think this gives Aoun rights to name the next President. I cannot see Mustaqbel going to Parliament to vote for Aoun, but someone that Aoun approves and that Hairi, read Geagea, approves as well. Hariri will go with Geagea's choice, but Aoun will not agree with Geagea, only Hariri, so everyone is heard, everyone is covered and HA is cut out as the price for M14 riding in to rescue Hezbollah again from the effects of its foreign ventures. First was the July 2006 war that Siniora was instrumental in ending before Israel liquidated HA, and now Hariri to save Lebanon from the consequences of HA's participation in sectarian civil warfare.
