Hizbullah Supports Dialogue between Rivals, Says Talks with Mustaqbal Fruitful

Head of Hizbullah's Political Bureau Sayyed Ibrahim Amin Sayyed stressed on Wednesday that the party supports all kinds of dialogue between the rival parties, expressing belief that talks with al-Mustaqbal Movement could lead to solid results.

“Hizbullah's dialogue with al-Mustaqbal indicated that the two sides have serious intentions to reach fruitful results,” Sayyed told reporters after a visit to the Armenian Orthodox Bishopric.

Hizbullah and al-Mustaqbal movement agreed on Monday during their second dialogue session to support efforts to “continue the implementation of the security plan across all Lebanese regions,” revealing that they have made “progress” to defuse the Sunni-Shiite tensions.

The dialogue is being held under the auspices of Speaker Nabih Berri at his residence in Ain el-Tineh.

Dialogue had kicked off on December 23 between the two parties and the first session was aimed at devising a “roadmap” and a “mechanism” for the next sessions.

Sayyed pointed out that Hizbullah supports all kinds of dialogue between the political arch-foes, which is the only way to resolve the crises gripping Lebanon.

Preparations are also underway for a meeting between Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun and Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea to resolve points of contention between the old time rivalries.

Asked about the presidential elections stalemate, the Hizbullah official noted that the head of state is capable of playing an effective role in facing the challenges that are threatening Lebanon and all its components.

bless anyone person, entity, organization, brigade or country that inflicts pain and suffering, death, torture, and destruction upon the iranian sectarian terrorist militia and its members, supporters or followers wherever they may be.

... and they refused to discuss "saraya el moukawameh" stating that the subject is off limits...so what is "fruitful"...? ... no different than ISIS... two sides to the same coin...

Sadly, the worst enemy is the one within. You can try to reason with them, but those iranian farsi slaves have no will of their own. They turn down any chance of unity because they can only see short-term, untill the next Iranian paycheck. They'd sell the country's past and future for a few rials, actually they already have.

Yes, this is because Hezbollah is now in over its head. Its fighters are being killed fighting an Islamic sectarian war when they were recruited to fight the "Zionist enemy". Subsidies from Iran are down, their fighters are not reservists but are in Iraq eating sand and their families are being left without their men.
These are their problems among the Shiites.

Thumb beiruti 07 January 2015, 16:45

Among the rest of the Lebanese they have earned only the resentment of the Sunni, Christian and Druze for having unilaterally drug Lebanon into neighboring Syria's civil war and for having brought that war to Lebanon. Nusra and Dae3g want into Lebanon in order to destroy Hezbollah bases there which would not be a target if Hezbollah had not entered the war against those opposition elements. While in Lebanon, Nusra and Dae3g no doubt would like to bring their brand of criminalized Islam to Lebanon which is an Islam that is alien to the Lebanese Moslem people Sunni and Shia alike.

Thumb beiruti 07 January 2015, 16:48

Now with Nusra and Dae3g threating to enter at Arsal and cut across Baalbek and Hermel to Akaar, Hezbollah needs all Lebanese to come to their aid and so they are supporting and facilitating reconciliation of Mostaqbel to themselves, Aoun to Geagea, LF to FPM and Jumblatt to everyone since everyone will be needed to defend Lebanon from the danger that Hezbollah has wrought by acting like it is a sovereign state when it is only an organized crime organization.

@ hassan
The best way to protect Lebanon is through values of Justice, law, honesty, democracy, respect, building and improving the state institutions and above all fulfilling the interests of Lebanon first and last.
You are certainly an honest person who truly believes in what you are saying, but are you sure of what are the interests of the superiors and of Iran?

Thumb Mystic 07 January 2015, 19:40

Fruitful talks, aslong as Mostaqbal keeps their personal grudges to themselves.

The M14 now realizes, that there will be no pullout of Syria, and that the Army & Resistance is the only hope of containing ISIS/Nusra takfiris.
