Nasrallah to Give Televised Speech on Qalamoun 'Victory'

Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is scheduled to give a televised speech on Saturday on the battle that his fighters are waging in the Syrian region of Qalamoun.

Nasrallah's speech is expected to focus on the military, security and political aspects of the Qalamoun fighting taking place between Syrian forces backed by Hizbullah and jihadists, said As Safir daily on Friday.

The Syrian soldiers and Hizbullah members have lately made progress in the Qalamoun mountains along Lebanon's border, near the Syrian capital.

Sources expected Nasrallah to announce “victory” in the battle after his fighters took over several strategic positions, As Safir said.

On Wednesday, they took control of Tallet Moussa, the highest hilltop in Qalamoun.

The peak provides a line of sight over the border area.

Some 3,000 militants are in the Qalamoun region, almost equally split between the Nusra Front and the Islamic State group, a Hizbullah commander recently said.

Hizbullah cites that fear of militants sweeping through Shiite and Christian villages in diverse Lebanon as the reason for its involvement in Syria.

The terrorist party claims it is defending Lebanon but on the Syrian hill inside Syria they raise their sectarian flag not the Lebanese flag.

Thumb geha 15 May 2015, 08:52

thank God they did not raise the Lebanese flag! Lebanon has nothing to do in the killing of the syrian people.

Thumb thepatriot 15 May 2015, 12:16

you have a point FT... actually Ebola has no Lebanese Flag... how could they raise one!?

Missing mohammad_ca 15 May 2015, 19:31

They took down the Lebanese flag for vilayet e faqih flag in Lebanon and you're talking about smart?

A defeat for the Lebanese people. Ebola has won in Syria but destroyed the hope of living together in Lebanon.

anyone who equates you to a human being needs to be choked to death; today before tomorrow.

Real Mostaqbali propaganda. Mothers are proud of their Sons going to Syria, because it is a fight for their families survival.

Thumb Mystic 15 May 2015, 17:20

Mothers throw rice on their sons coffins, no screaming or panic. You are among those whom loves to see their sons being killed, so who cares about you.

Mostaqbalis are not good in any wat, they do not care about Lebanon. They supported Al Nusra and ISIS from the beginning.

Mostaqbal didn't care one bit about Lebanese lives in 2006 and neither do they now.

Your vilayet e faqih decided to start the 2006 war so the Lebanese blood is on vilayet e faqih hands.

Nasrallah will play the role of George W. Bush with his "Mission Accomplished" speech made before the mission had even begun. Until the enemy is defeated, there can be no victory laps by anyone. and who exactly is the enemy here?

Missing mohammad_ca 15 May 2015, 19:29

They lost Idlib and Jisr Alshoghour within a week did you swear allegiance to vilayet e faqih today like your sayed does?

Missing mohammad_ca 15 May 2015, 19:34

Your vilayet e faqih is failing miserably in Syria. Dozens of Lebanese deaths on their hands

Missing mohammad_ca 16 May 2015, 03:12

I'm not selling anything it is your sayed who said that decisions of war and peace and all decisions for that matter are dictated by vilayet e faqih. You are right one has to be really stupid to follow vilayet e faqih

Not him again, last time he spoke of a divine victory it was followed by, "Had I known". Before or after the victory speech matters little, invariably every time Sayed Hassan speaks, our lot in Lebanon gets a little worse. By the way, isn't that territory Syrian? And by consequence isn't Bachar the one supposed to do the talking? It's clear, all press releases, including those of the Syrian regime say that Syrian regime forces shouldered by the Lebanese militia Hezbollah fighting against IS and Al Nusra and not Hezbollah forces shouldered by Syrian regime forces. Or are we to believe that Sayed Hassan is now telling us that he also owns Syria? If he can't anymore maneuver freely in Lebanon as before, what is the use of his message then? Except if he wishes to remind us that he is a military analyst, like when he was trying to extrapolate some years ago about the Israeli planes that killed Hariri.
