Daryan Lauds Resumption of Cabinet Sessions, Urges 'Pacification'

Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Latif Daryan on Friday described the resumption of cabinet sessions as a positive step, calling on all parties to pacify the political situations.

“The resumption of cabinet sessions is a positive indication, even if there is a dispute or divergent viewpoints among the representatives of the political forces in the government,” Daryan said after returning from a Umrah pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

The mufti noted that the disputes must be addressed in cabinet “amid the vacuum of the presidency and the continued paralysis of parliament.”

“Bickering and confrontations are normal, but what's important is that the cabinet has resumed its work and this is a positive step,” he added.

Daryan also hoped all parties will “abide by pacification and embark on addressing the current issues in a spirit of cooperation and harmony.”
