Aoun: Arab Countries Chose Wrong Path by Boycotting Syria

Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun slammed on Tuesday the Arab League’s suspension of Syria’s membership.

He said after the Change and Reform bloc’s weekly meeting: “The Arab countries have chosen the wrong and losing path by deciding to boycott Syria.”

“These states have limited themselves to a certain axis and there is something that is steering them away from historic paths,” he added.

Commenting on his statements last week that the situation in Syria will be over in a week, meaning this week, the MP said: “The Syrian crisis ended overnight.”

“The Arab initiative was announced in a provocative manner and it was phrased in a way that would force Syria to reject it,” Aoun remarked.

“Someone caused the failure of the Arab initiative and the escalation was clear on the ground,” he added.

“No country can implement reform without stability and stability cannot last without reform,” stressed the FPM leader.

Furthermore, he noted that Saudi King Abdullah can “save the situation in Syria if he exerted all his efforts on its internal scene.”

Asked if sanctions on Syria may affect Lebanon, Aoun replied: “Sanctions affect the poor and poverty teaches us wisdom.”

“Sanctions against Iran transformed it into a major power in all fields,” he said.

On Saturday, the Arab League suspended Syria’s membership over its failure to implement its initiative that calls on it to introduce reform and halt the use of force against anti-regime protesters.

Lebanon, Yemen, and Syria voted against the suspension while Iraq abstained from the vote.

Who the f@#$! is this guy to tell us how we want to live. Can someone send him to Burundi or to Bangladesh he will certainly be very happy there! He never made a dime in his life, he lives luxuriously with other people's money and he wants to teach us what poverty is?

There is only one thing that Aoun can teach us: Insanity

Aoun and Berri are cheerleaders for Syrian regime (disgustingly ugly ones I might add). They are comparing notes and saying the same thing....I wonder what's going on with these two clowns...Aoun always attacks KSA. Maybe their boss Assad is asking them to beg for help.

It is really embarassing, is it not? Aoun as the last regional defender of the indefensible Assad Regime. Assad must be embarassed by his lap dog defending him.

Unfortunately, there is no shame in Aoun as he chases after his money. Nor is there any shame among the Aoun zelm.

Whatever monetary or material benefits that Aoun pays out as patronage in order to keep his following among the Christians in Lebanon can buy their stomach's but is it so much that it purchases their logical minds, their free will, their eyes and ears so that they can't see and they can't hear anymore. Are they so blinded by patronage that they allow Aoun to get away with these outrageous things.

I do not blame Aoun as much as Aounists. Aoun is a sick old man. Aounists are just indefensible and an embarassment to Lebanon.
