Director of the Tripoli Port Ahmed Tamer assured on Friday that the Turkish freight vessels that were seized for inspection and search in the port a day earlier did not contain banned cargo, the National News Agency reported on Friday.

“The authorities suspected the presence of banned materials in the shipments of the two ships that carried 54 trucks,” Tamer told NNA.

He added that the trucks were scanned and no illegal material was found, he said: “The trucks were sent to Beirut and their loads were scanned confirming the absence of banned material aboard.”

“The ships unloaded their cargo and left the port without any legal hindrances,” emphasized Tamer.

He voiced calls on Lebanese and Arab media outlets to seek facts from the related authorities before reporting any misleading information relating to the port.

Furthermore, Tamer hoped that the customs authorities redevelop their equipment and repair the scanner in the port.

On Thursday, the army took tight security measures in the northern seaport of Tripoli and seized the Turkish freight vessels.

Media outlets circulated reports that the ships carried banned material.

Even on an article regarding ship inspections I find you @mowaten spamming, trolling, and terrorizing other posters. What kind of person are you? New evidence surfaces by the minute that you are a paid poster but the question remains who pays you and for what exact purpose? Is it the Iranian embassy, is it the revolutionary guard, is it the syrian intelligence or the ex-KGB? These questions must be answered by you and NOW!

i already told you a dozen times it's the ex-KGB. you're not a very good listener are you?

Al Manar and OTV said the ships were loaded with weapons for Ashraf Rifi.

sure, it is a daily routine to storm ships and arrest their crew and have their cargo taken to Beirut and searched. Rather than admit the army got played by the iranian militia they resort to these week justifications.
