Gemayel Criticizes Geagea: He Accepts Hizbullah in Cabinet but Rejects Kataeb

Kataeb party chief Sami Gemayel lashed out at Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea and accused him of planning to exclude his party from a new cabinet lineup, An Nahar daily reported on Friday.

“Geagea does not mind to be with Hizbullah in a single government, but he does not want the participation of Kataeb,” said Gemayel.

Addressing Geagea, he asked: “Did not we vote in your favor in the presidential election?”

“We have always been in the target circle, it is not the first time we find ourselves in a difficult position and amid attempts to isolate us. Let them try and the public opinion shall judge the actions of all,” he went on to say.

On the latest presidential elections, Gemeyal welcomed the election of President Michel Aoun although he believes that the decision to end the vacuum was not totally Lebanese, he said: “The Kataeb party has voted for the constants that we believe in, contrary to others who abandoned theirs.

“The circumstances that engulfed the election of Aoun were moved through a foreign settlement,” Gemayel believes, as he remarked that “the regional player which has been obstructing the country all through the presidential vacuum period is the same player that helped reach this settlement.”

“A pre-agreed settlement is what brought Aoun president, while we adhered to our consistent positions and beliefs. Bargains do not equate with constants and principles,” he said.

Stressing that Iran was the “first winner” in the presidency election, he said: “Let us be honest with ourselves...This is what (Hizbullah leader) Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah wanted and he has won. Why have not they elected Aoun before all these years? We would have saved the bloodshed of Pierre Gemayel, Gebran Tueini, Antoine Ghanem and all other martyrs since 2005 until today.”

“Geagea does not mind to be with Hizbullah in a single government, but he does not want the participation of Kataeb,” said Gemayel.

Absolutely! Geagea has been trying to sell his decision to support Aoun for president as some big strategic global showmanship when it is simply a victory for hezbollah as Sami said.

Geagea refused to participate in Salam's government because it had the iranian hezbollah in it. Now, he has no problem at all.

Kateab voted for Geagea as president when he was a candidate but he is trying to eliminate them in the present cabinet.

in the end it all comes down to a very simple choice: you can either chose to be on the losers side, or you can be on hezbollah's side. :D

Thumb eagledawn 11 November 2016, 13:57

go hang yourself from a crane in tehran or better still go sit on a mine you clown and spare us your silly jokes.

Thumb .mowaten. 11 November 2016, 14:20

hahaha thank you eaglyawn for exemplifying the sore bitterness of the losers camp :D

Thumb Puppet 11 November 2016, 14:42

I respect Mr. Mowaten because he has a simple choice: the choice of hezbollah.

Thumb Mystic 11 November 2016, 14:45

That's a good one mowaten, you can also see all the losers respond to that comment.

Thumb Mystic 11 November 2016, 14:47

Gemayel Junior should've reached for President Aoun instead of just neglecting the President Aoun as Rifi did.
Now that Aoun won, Gemayel junior wants a piece of the cake.

What can one say, another E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T comment. I particularly enjoyed the part where you said " you can either chose to be on the losers side, or you can be on hezbollah's side. :D"
Thank you for making this forum lively and vibrant.
Still laughing since January 2015.
Thank you

Why do you think Saudi Arabia made Hariri endorse Aoun? It was their last desperate attempt to gain influence in the Lebanese parliament.

Thumb walid121 11 November 2016, 15:46

.mowaten. I'm not a big poster here but I have been using this site for over 46 years and recently I have been liking your posts, you're the only one informing these deluded ignorants. :)

Thumb eagledawn 11 November 2016, 16:07

it is "choose" and not "chose"

pro-tip: look up words before using them, avoid revealing the idiot you are.

Anyone who ALWAYS attack fellow Lebanese and RARELY Israel, and who calls those who resist Israeli aggression "militaristic" like TEXAS who is a slave of American Zionists is a ".......".

Missing bigjohn 11 November 2016, 22:14

Anyone who criticize HA is NOT an enemy Zionist! I criticized HA below: read if you can. Those who criticize fellow LEBANESE almost daily while you condone Israeli aggression is a ZIONIST.

As far as the LOUSY Syrian regime, I NEVER praised it unlike PUTIN, Rafiq Hariri, Jumblatt, ETC. Saying that it is better than the Takfiris who want to take over Syria does not make you a Baathist. But, again when you are lacking LOGIC...

lol, but hezbollah did not vote/nominate hariri yet they demand a share in the cabinet.

Thumb barrymore 11 November 2016, 16:24

but you want berri to have a ministerial portfolio(s) and yet they did not vote aoun in parliament? lolz

Missing bigjohn 11 November 2016, 16:28

Do you prefer instead that those seats going to Amal also go to HA. HA, the largest party in Lebanon never cared how many seats it gets in government. They are always willing to share with others.

Thumb barrymore 11 November 2016, 17:01

stick to the questions being asked and stop trying to sound intelligent!

Thumb justin 11 November 2016, 14:10

what you mentioned is untrue, as usual.

"Maronite Christian leader Michel Aoun, who is aligned with Hezbollah, stayed away but said he shared the mourners' grief. Hezbollah leaders, who have said Gemayel 's assassins sought to stir civil strife in Lebanon, were also absent."

Thumb justice 11 November 2016, 15:17

so we are supposed to believe the flamethrowertimes of dahieh instead. I bet you were standing next to aoun when he received that phone call from gemayel's wife telling him not to attend.

go get a life ya troll.

All these parties are sectarian and ONLY represent the interests of wealthy capitalists. HA used to repres3ent the interests of Shiite working poor, but no longer. They are all the same.

Most of you idiots still view these events as revolving around Saudi vs. Iran or HA vs. FM. Geopolitics tend to be a tad bit more complicated. But what do I know... Experts like yourselves still believe you're right even when you're dead wrong. Spare yourself the frustration of feeling screwed and stop thinking of events exclusively from your narrow sectarian view.

Thumb eagledawn 11 November 2016, 20:45

yeah, tell them about Geopolitics. Does it mean something like this:

"incorruptible :2016-2017 will be the downfall of Saudi Arabia."

Missing incorruptible 11 November 2016, 21:58
