Lebanese Man Abducted, Murdered in Curacao
A Lebanese man has been kidnapped and killed in the southern Caribbean Sea island country of Curacao, his family said.
“Lebanese expat Hussein Asaad al-Najjar, 49, has been murdered in Curacao in Latin America after he was abducted 25 days ago,” media reports quoted the family as saying on Monday.
The man hails from the Bekaa town of Shmestar, west of Baalbek.
The al-Najjar family and residents of Shmestar have urged Lebanese authorities to help in the repatriation of the man's body.
Curacao lies approximately 65 kilometers north of the Venezuelan coast. It is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
It has a population of over 150,000 in an area of 444 square kilometers.
