Al-Rahi Meets Aoun, Urges Solution to Syrian Refugee Crisis
Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi held talks Wednesday with President Michel Aoun at the Baabda Palace and urged a solution to Lebanon's Syrian refugee crisis.
“I raised with the president the issue of refugees and the need to find a solution in any way possible,” said al-Rahi after the meeting.
Separately, the patriarch said Aoun reassured him that the May 2018 parliamentary elections will be held on time “whatever the circumstances might be.”
