Bassil Receives Letter from Russian Foreign Minister

Foreign Minister Jebran Bassil on Friday received a letter from his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.

The letter was delivered by Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin.

“In light of the message I have conveyed, we discussed the situations and developments in the region, especially the efforts exerted by Russia to about the situations in Syria, the liberation of Syrian territory from terrorists, achieving progress towards a political settlement, and the outcome of the Sochi conference,” Zasypkin said after the meeting.

In response to a question, the ambassador denied that Lavrov's letter is about the dispute between Lebanon and Israel over offshore gas.
