Higher Defense Council Discusses Elections Security, Rome 2

President Michel Aoun on Friday presided over a meeting for the Higher Defense Council at the presidential palace in Baabda.

A statement issued after the meeting said talks addressed “the security situations in the country and the measures taken to preserve security and stability, in addition to the measures that will be taken during the upcoming parliamentary elections.”

“The conferees also discussed the ongoing preparations for Lebanon's participation in the Rome 2 Conference for supporting the Lebanese Army and security forces,” the statement added.

It also tackled issues related to the work of the armed forces and the needs of their personnel.
