Prime Minister Saad Hariri marked on Friday Lebanon’s 43rd civil war anniversary saying "lessons must be drawn" that lack of implementing legitimacy and disrespect for national coexistence are a “way to hell”
“April 13, 1975 was a black day that ignited strife among the Lebanese and opened the doors wide for the State’s fall,” said Hariri in a tweet.
“This day must be remembered and lessons must be drawn that overstepping legitimacy and national coexistence are only a door towards hell,” he added.
The Lebanese Civil War was a multifaceted civil war in Lebanon, lasting from 1975 to 1990 and resulting in an estimated 120,000 fatalities. As of 2012, approximately 76,000 people remain displaced within Lebanon.
There was also an exodus of almost one million people from Lebanon as a result of the war.
