Hariri Sources Say 'Ball in Christian Court'

The “ball is in the Christian court” regarding the Cabinet formation process, sources close to Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri said, amid reports of an imminent meeting between President Michel Aoun and Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea.

“If Aoun and Geagea agree on the distribution of the Christian governmental share, the rest of the non-essential obstacles will be addressed, such as the obstacles of Druze and Sunni representation,” the sources told Asharq al-Awsat newspaper in remarks published Sunday.

“Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat's stances over the past hours indicate that he is dismayed by the formation process after he launched jabs against Aoun's camp,” the sources added.
