Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea noted Monday that some parties are “obstructing” the formation of the new government in an attempt to “curtail” the LF.

“It is lamentable that some parties are continuing to obstruct the formation of the government and the interests of the country and its citizens for the sole reason of attempting to curtail the Lebanese Forces,” Geagea tweeted.

The LF is demanding to get five seats in the new government in light of the gains it made in the latest parliamentary elections while the Progressive Socialist Party is demanding three seats. The Free Patriotic Movement is opposing the demands of the two parties.

Some parties, such as Hizbullah and the FPM, have meanwhile suggested that foreign countries, especially Saudi Arabia, are behind the ongoing delay.

with all due respect to all leaders and followers of these leaders. If today Ja3ja3 was given the majority of the government what difference will that make to the rest of the nation? History has shown and will continue to show that when a political party in Lebanon is elected by a special interest group then the benefits if any will go for the group that elected it. So his area will probably have a greater share of wasta a touch more electricity and services than other areas in Lebanon thats it. Power in Lebanon has done little for the average citizen but a lot for corrupting the officials. This expression goes across the board and not aimed at Ja3ja3 exclusively they are all equally inept and corrupt.
