Aoun Signs Decree Setting Tripoli by-Elections

President Michel Aoun on Friday signed a decree setting April 14 as the date to hold by-election in the district of Tripoli to fill the fifth Sunni parliamentary vacant seat, the Presidency said in a tweet.
The MP seat was left vacant after the election annulment of al-Mustaqbal Movement MP Dima Jamali.
In February, the Constitutional Council invalidated the 2018 election of Jamali in Tripoli’s parliamentary elections based on an appeal by failed candidate Taha Naji of the National Dignity List led by MP Faisal Karami.
