Berri: Bankruptcy Rumors Reflect Conspiratory Intentions

W460

Speaker Nabih Berri on Wednesday said the 2019 state budget is a "golden chance" to overcome all the difficult circumstances in the country.

He also warned of "rumors" about the country's "bankruptcy," saying they reflect conspiratory intentions.

Berri also reassured that the rights of the lower and middle classes will not be touched while urging "concessions from everyone."

"The Lebanese pound is fine and there will be no bankruptcy," he added.

Bankruptcy Rumors are being spreads chiefly by Hezbollah's mouthpiece Al-Akhbar. Berri should ask his ally why does it have conspiratory intentions against this country.

Of course their will be no bankruptcy, what is actually happening is that the state does not have the money to pay its debt. This will mean that it will default on some of its debt. This is very bad for the people who loaned the country money as they will not get their money back and for the citizens who will have to suffer austerity measures implemented by the government (Greece, Italy, Spain).
Keep in mind that new loaners would think twice before pouring more loans.

P.S. the lower and middle classes are the ones that suffered the most in the countries that implemented sever austerity measures!
