Diab Urges Lebanese to Put Health before Economy on Lockdown Eve
Caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab on Friday urged Lebanese citizens to “prioritize life and health over the economy,” on the eve of a two-week lockdown aimed at curbing a major spike in coronavirus cases.
In an address to the nation, Diab said the lockdown is aimed at “avoiding a health disaster in our society and protecting ourselves and our families.”
“The lockdown itself is not a solution. It is rather a chance to up the country’s health preparedness after the number of infections greatly surged over the past weeks,” he added.
Noting that he understands criticism and citizens’ economic hardships, Diab said “the economy has no meaning” if citizens lose their lives to the virus.
He also reassured that authorities are “exerting utmost effort to obtain the vaccines as soon as possible,” urging citizens to “abide by mask-wearing, sanitization and social distancing” so that normalcy can be restored.

FPM MP Was Seen Celebrating Birthday With 7 Cakes And No Coronavirus Safety Measures
MP Ibrahim Kanaan celebrated his birthday on Thursday by hosting a large gathering without wearing a mask and respecting social distancing measures and all the while having a table filled with seven cakes and dessert.
What’s ironic, is that Ibrahim Kanaan is the chair of the Budget and Finance Committee in parliament since 2010, meaning he’s in charge of overseeing and studying the financial situation of the country and planning for solutions out of this crisis that has led to the increase in the poverty rate.

I honestly wonder if it is fair to criticize this man, as far as i know he was a university Prof., not attached to any political warlord, he has been given an ungrateful r esponsibility, I think he was naive that he accepted it. Because of the predators in this political environment ,all others before him also failed; I wonder if there is a Lebanese somewhere that could do better.
