Salam says Lebanon to seek Israeli pullout and captives release in Washington talks

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam hoped Monday that the ceasefire agreement reached by the U.S. and Iran will succeed in "ending this war and halting the killing, destruction, displacement and all the other tragedies and suffering inflicted upon the Lebanese people."

"I extend my sincere gratitude to all who contributed to achieving this outcome," said Salam at the beginning of a cabinet session at the Grand Serail.

"We will double our efforts through the ongoing negotiations in Washington to secure a complete Israeli withdrawal from our territory and the release of our captives," Salam added.

"Just as the government has mobilized all its resources in recent months to address the displacement crisis, and as we look forward to our people's safe and dignified return to their cities and villages as soon as possible, we will intensify our efforts with all our brothers and friends to secure the necessary resources for reconstruction," the premier promised.

Don't think Israel will allow Lebanon to resume its efforts to annihilate it.
