Army Commander General Rodolphe Haykal on Thursday stressed that the army remains committed to fulfilling all its missions despite “the significant challenges posed by limited resources, the magnitude of the tasks, and the delicate circumstances.”

Lamenting that Israel is continuing its attacks and violations to “obstruct the army's efforts,” Haykal noted that the military “continues its deployment in the south in accordance with existing agreements and national principles, and its efforts to ensure the safe and secure return of our people to their villages and towns persist.”

“It also remains prepared to deploy in all occupied areas from which Israeli occupation forces withdraw,” he added, in a statement marking Army Day.

Haykal noted that the scale of the army’s missions across the country necessitates strengthening the capabilities of the military institution and empowering it to confront challenges. “This requires leveraging cooperation with brotherly and friendly nations, especially since supporting the army is an investment in the stability of Lebanon and the security of the region,” he pointed out.

Haykal also emphasized that “the military institution will remain the guarantor of security and civil peace, and will not allow the destabilization of the country or its dragging into strife.”
