Hezbollah says Israeli annexation map confirms Israel ambitions in Lebanon
Hezbollah has noted that the Israeli foreign ministry’s publishing of a map that annexes occupied southern Lebanon “confirms beyond any doubt the true extent of the Israeli enemy's ambitions for Lebanon.”
Israel “has not and will not give up” its ambitions, Hezbollah warned in a statement, pointing out that Israel’s direct negotiations with the Lebanese government are “nothing more than a blatant attempt to buy time and impose new realities on the ground."
"The Lebanese government bears full responsibility for its insistence on pursuing a path of concessions and offering free gifts to the enemy. It is required to conduct a comprehensive review to correct its course, halt its humiliating direct negotiations with the enemy, … and take immediate action at all levels,” the group added.
“An emergency session should be convened to take the necessary steps to confront this serious matter, foremost among them filing an urgent complaint with the U.N. Security Council. Even if this government has pledged to its enemy not to pursue it in international forums, there is no longer any justification for ignoring the reality of the Israeli enemy's ambitions in Lebanon," Hezbollah warned.
It added that "all Lebanese, regardless of their background, must realize the magnitude of the dangers to which authorities are dragging Lebanon by insisting on continuing down the path of concessions and humiliating negotiations.”
“National responsibility requires unifying efforts and positions in confronting the occupation and its ambitions, defending Lebanon's sovereignty and its full rights to its land and resources, and understanding that the enemy's ambitions are not limited to southern Lebanon but target all of Lebanon," Hezbollah cautioned.
