Iranian foreign ministry voices 'full solidarity' with Lebanon
Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei on Tuesday strongly condemned "the brutal attacks launched by the Zionist regime in recent days on areas in southern Lebanon," according to the Iranian news agency IRNA.
In a statement, he pointed to "the continued attacks by the occupying regime and its violation of Lebanon's territorial integrity and national sovereignty," adding that "the silence and indifference of international institutions, particularly the U.N. Security Council, encourage the Zionist regime to further escalate its aggression and crimes."
Baqaei asserted that "the ruling administration in the United States, due to its comprehensive support for the occupying regime, is complicit and a partner in all the Zionist regime's crimes in Lebanon, occupied Palestine, and the entire region."
The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman also praised "the resistance and courageous steadfastness of the Lebanese people in the face of the Zionist regime's aggression and occupation," stressing "the Islamic Republic of Iran's full solidarity with Lebanon in its path to defend its sovereignty, dignity and independence in the face of the Zionist regime's attacks."
