Gemayel urges Aoun, Salam not to yield to blackmail over Hezbollah explosives
Kataeb leader Sami Gemayel demanded on Friday the referral of Hezbollah's explosives case to the Judicial Council, urging the President and Prime Minister not to yield to any threats or blackmail.
"Any threat to civil peace is a threat to the state itself," Gemayel said.
Last week, Cabinet decided to postpone referring Hezbollah's explosives case to the Judicial Council until investigations are concluded, prompting Lebanese Forces ministers to walk out of the session in protest.
The explosives seized in Dahr el-Baydar belonged to Hezbollah and the group said they were intended for use against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.
