Damascus Blasts 'Enemies of Syria' Meeting

Damascus on Sunday blasted a "Friends of Syria" meeting in Istanbul that is seeking ways to up the pressure on President Bashar Assad's regime as a "platform for the enemies of Syria."
"Only the naive and those who want to see through the eyes of the Americans believe that this is a conference for the friends of the Syrian people," said Al-Baath newspaper, mouthpiece of Assad's ruling party of the same name.
"The call by (Prince) Saud al-Faisal to arm the terrorists, encourage the bloodbath and destroy infrastructure makes the conference a platform for the enemies of Syria, who are discussing everything but the interests of the Syrians," it added.
The Saudi foreign minister said on Saturday that "arming the opposition is a duty" because it is unable to defend itself, despite the opposition of Washington and other Western and Arab states to the idea.
But the Damascus daily accused those attending the Istanbul gathering of seeking to weaken Syria.
"This is a regional and international offensive to find ways of killing still more Syrians, and ruining their society and their state, to weaken Syria and transform it into a country resembling those that pander to Washington, Paris, London, and Tel Aviv."
Separately, state television broadcast images of the opening of the conference and condemned those participating.
"(Recep Tayyip) Erdogan speaks of the interests of the Syrian people and forgets that he hosts the terrorists and facilitates their criminal operations in Syria," it charged.
The Turkish prime minister, speaking at the start of the conference, said the international community would have no choice "but to accept Syrians' right to self-defense," if the U.N. Security Council fails to intervene to halt the crisis.
The TV channel also lashed out at Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem al-Thani, who also spoke at the start of the meeting.
"Hamad speaks of a political solution in Syria and prides himself, like Faisal, on supporting terrorism with weapons and money to kill the Syrian people," it said.

Its easier to stop something or fix something if it was you (Assad Clan)who started it in the first place. As far as saving the Christians, we have survied the last 1400 years against many extremists and enemies without "help" from Syria and we plan to be here at least another 1400 years. Without Christians in lebanon there would be no Lebanon, even most Muslims Know this.

Love4bashar your a criminal who belongs behind bars. To defend a mass murderer like hafez al assad and then his son bashar should be punishable by law. God will punish you and your bashar just like hafez is being punished. By the way the so called christians who are defending your terrorist bashar today actually fought your army and hafez during the war so dont think any lebanese views you as the protector of christians. Love4zift Maybe some or many in this meeting had bad intentions but that doesnt change the fact that your bashar is a terrorist criminal just like his father. Eventually this regime will fall, not tomorrow but eventually and when it does, people like you will be ashamed to even breathe in public.

Yes Popa, speaking the truth of what Syria and the assads have done to Lebanon is powerful, because not since they invaded Lebanon & set up their political controls & lying advices on boarder security, until now, has anyone been able to speak freely about what they did.
They silenced & torturned the nation of Lebanon, raped its democracy & destroyed any opposition. Now people can speak and it is time to speak! Unity & comfort will be found from each other as the country stands together against this butcher. They can take everything, but not your truth!
Please also remember this revolution in Syria started by a few teenagers writing graffitti, whcih all teenagers shuld be free to do. they were tortured, killed & their genitals removed before being returned to their famiys. the world has been divided over Syria because half have supported that maggot to do his crimes in Lebanon & they dont want people to remember this. So speak your truth, brave & free Lebanese!!

Syria did not sort out palastinians the Christians did, who the Syrians also slaughtered, they did not stop war, they made war, there is thousandsin mass graves made by syria!!
