Report: Lebanese-Austrian Woman Goes Missing in Lebanon

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Security forces are searching for a Lebanese-Austrian woman who was reportedly kidnapped after arriving in Lebanon on Monday, media reports said.

The National News Agency reported that the Baabda police station received a phone call on Tuesday on the 112 emergency hotline from mobile number 78-881299 in which a woman, who identified herself as Maria Sadeq, claimed she was kidnapped and assaulted by two people.

The woman said she didn’t know her whereabouts but believed she is held at the house of her kidnappers who were in the next room.

Security forces have so far failed to identify her location over their inability to access the telecom data which has created controversy in Lebanon.

But the case has been referred to the Internal Security forces General Directorate to ask for the telecom data and investigate whether the woman’s claims are true.

The interior ministry said earlier this month that only the competent judicial committee decides whether security agencies can obtain the information on telecommunication records.

WTF? are you guys even for real? why do i fell like this is candid camera and you guys are pulling a joke? can you seriously stop commenting on each and every single random fact trying to link it to a political side?
however if you INSIST on doing that, then two can play that game. indeed if there seems to have been a surge in criminality lately, andif anything, the only side who has an interest in it is m14.

since they they lost power they have been doing everything they can to sow chaos. and hariri plainly announced it, calling for the "day of rage".

also, congratulations naharnet! if ever the woman was still alive, now her kidnappers know she managed to call from their phone. from now on, they will be more careful. hopefully all this is a prank, if not, then i fear the worst, and irresponsible media will have at least part of it on their conscience.

As long as there are armed sectarian thugs calling themselves resistance roaming the streets and enjoying political, judicial, spiritual, and military support there will be no security and peace.

That's very professional of our security forces. Now the kidnappers are going to take her phone and god knows what. Its a shame that such basic error are made in cases where people's lives are hanging on the balance!!!!!

Who wants to be that the kidnappers are Shi'ites? Those behind such abductions are also behind luxury car thefts in Lebanon and are usually armed by rogue hezbollahi militiamen.

Gibran said a 100 yeara ago: "you have your Lebanon and I have mine". Can anybody tell me what changed since then?

I swear, if Naharnet posted an article about a cat falling from a tree, you'd see political blame in the comments.

I can't beleive people are falling for that ridiculous story.
Do you actually beleive that kidnappers would leave their victime unsearched, untied, and unmuzzled, able to pick up her phone and call for help???
Or do you actuall beleive that the police would call for a press conference and tell the kidnappers: "Hey, you idiots, you left your victim call us for help...we are now working with Telecom on tracing her call, we need a couple of days to ge the info, and triangulate the phones' location, so you hang on to phone, and we better find you in your current location once for couple of more days...capish!"
Come this whole story is so phony!!!
