Military Prosecutor Judge Saqr Saqr charged six people with forming an armed gang for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities, the National News Agency reported on Monday.

NNA said that the six, five of whom are arrested while the other is still at large, were also accused of the possession, transportation and manufacturing of arms and explosives.

The case was referred to acting Military Examining Magistrate Fadi Sawan.

While the news agency neither specified the time of the arrest of the suspects nor their identities, they are highly likely to be members of the gang arrested by the Lebanese army intelligence in the Shouf town of Rmeileh last month.

The army announced in July that it arrested three people in Rmeileh after Israeli-made equipment was found in their possession.

Media reports later said that the number of suspects reached five and the army intelligence is seeking to seize a sixth.
