Several Syrian shells hit the northern Wadi Khaled region at dawn Tuesday, damaging several houses and causing panic among residents, the National News Agency reported.

NNA said the shells struck houses in the Bqaiaa-Mqaibleh area near the legal Bqaiaa-Jisr al-Qmar crossing, damaging the houses and forcing residents to flee to safer areas.

Shells also hit bushes along al-Kabir river on the outskirts of the towns of Hekr Janine, Qashlaq and Ammar al-Baykat, NNA said.

Several people have been killed and injured in recent months from Syrian shelling or infiltration into Lebanese territories by Syrian troops fighting armed rebels that are seeking to overthrow President Bashar Assad.

The army and the government ignored the people of the north. In my opinion the have the right to arm themselves and in order to confront any Syrian agression.

whatever justification you give it, this is Lebanese territories thus our army is supposed to defend it, unless it is an army of traitors.

believe me when I say:
you are the ones giving the orders to this army, thus you are the ones making them not do their job of defending the country.
you are traitors to your country and pushing all Lebanese to rsent their army through your actions.

FT Syria has no right to fire across the border no matter what ..why doesn't Syria fire across the Turkish border where most of the rebels are based?..They know Turkey would hit back.

Lebanon's weakness is due to iran refusing to let go of the weapon's card it holds in Lebanon. Its Irans weapons. They deside what to do with it not hizballah. Until a setelment is reached between the west and Iran on the nuclear issue the weapons will unfortunately stay and Lebanon will be devided and weak and Syria is free to do what it wishes to do in Lebanon.

Just trying to get areasonable explanation on how do you justify the inaction of the Lebanese army. Wasn't the Plaestenian raids (rebels) the israelies used as an excuse to shell and invade the South? How come we have to treat the North any different from the South?

I'm not siding with israel and I'm not justifying its existance. I'm just asking what is the difference between the two other than one sits on the North and the other on the South.
