Around 19 people were injured on Tuesday when a bus carrying Syrians from the northern province of Aleppo overturned at the Masnaa border crossing in Lebanon’s eastern Bekaa valley, the National News Agency reported.

NNA said the bus flipped over onto its side when the driver lost control and hit a concrete barrier near the Lebanese customs at the crossing.

The Syrians, some of them with severe injuries, were taken to hospitals in Zahle and Chtaura, the agency added.

The Masnaa crossing has on several occasions witnessed deadly accidents. The deadliest incident was in 2003 when a Syrian army diesel truck overturned and exploded, setting on fire several vehicles and killing 17 people.
