General Security chief Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim informed Prime Minister Najib Miqati that a Turkish national kidnapped by an unknown group would be released on Monday or Tuesday, An Nahar daily reported.

An Nahar said that the Turkish man will be handed over to the General Security and will be accompanied by a European man of Syrian origin to Turkey.

Another Turkish businessman, Tekin Tufan, who has been kidnapped by al-Meqdad clan, is still being held by the family's military wing despite claims it lost contact with the party holding the man following an army raid on the Rweiss neighborhood of Beirut's southern suburbs.

The Turkish men and several other Syrians were kidnapped in retaliation to the abduction of Hassan al-Meqdad by Syrian rebels in Damascus last month.

The spate of kidnappings began on May 22 when 11 Lebanese pilgrims were abducted by the rebel Free Syrian Army in the northern Syrian province of Aleppo while on their way home from Iran.

One of the pilgrims was released last month as a goodwill gesture.

According to An Nahar, one or two more could be set free following the release of the Turkish man abducted in Lebanon.

Why is the kidnapped released and the kidnappers still at large? Stop this mascaraed with an iron fist. The general security chief has his nerve to say that the Turkish man will be released as if he own his release at the poker table.

Nice photo of the "armed wing". The Hezz never said anything of these other "militias" doing kidnapping in their area. These ugly families are what Lebanon needs to get rid of.
